My Story... My own healing journey began(and I find that healing encompasses a wide variety of continual practices and philosophies versus being a sort of end result or destination we find, hence the word JOURNEY!) the day I decided to heed my higher calling and give up waiting tables and study to become a massage therapist. That was all back in 2010! Through my practice, I became fascinated, if not enthralled, with how massage and bodywork could have such an influential and powerful impact on overall health and well-being, not only my own, but more over of those who found themselves beneath my well trained and loving hands.
In the Spring of 2014, I answered another call to invest myself in yoga teacher training (which is one of the best investments I have made to date!) The 7 months of training were very demanding! Not just physically demanding, but very emotionally, mentally, psychically and spiritually exhausting. I also found myself to be illuminated to the awareness of this centered or balanced place ideally we want ourselves to be to find and maintain (and even continually enhance) optimal health and well-being on all levels! I discovered parts of myself that had always longed to be seen, heard, felt and expressed. In short, the deeper parts of my journey towards health, happiness, and wholeness were awoken. Roughly a month or so after I stepped onto the path of teacher training, I allowed myself to lean into the flow and step into yet a deeper part of my own healing journey. In February 2014, I received 1st Degree Traditional Usui Reiki initiation and training. I was so deeply inspired and transformed on all levels by my initial practice with Reiki that I have since gone on to study 2nd, 3rd Master, 3rd Master/Teacher Traditional Usui Reiki and 1st and 2nd Karuna Healing as well, all of which have deeply expanded, enriched and enhanced my practice and my life. Between my practice as a massage therapist and body worker and the knowledge and wisdom that was developing and unfolding deeper in my life through the practice and embodiment of yoga teacher training and Reiki initiation in which I had invested, I began to realize that my healing work was developing into something deeper than I could have ever intended. I began to realize that I hadn’t been called to JUST be a massage therapist, I hadn’t been called to JUST be a yoga teacher or a Reiki practitioner...I was being called to do more than JUST help people FEEL better….I was being called to help people LIVE and LOVE more fully and more deeply. As such, I decided that the best way to do this would be through ascertaining a rich portfolio of practices and philosophies that are tried and true and then work to find ways to creatively integrate them into various approaches that would help other people navigate and resolve the day to day stresses and chaos, that life inevitably throws our way, to work with and through, letting go of what prevents full expression and enjoyment of life. I realized I was being called to become an integrative healing practitioner. Over the years through curiosity and the sheer desire to learn more ways to help people develop and empower themselves and their lives (and sometimes in my own attempt to balance, harmonize and heal), I have developed a very eclectic tool kit….allowing me to have an even more versatile, robust and enriching practice for both the clients I work with and myself. As a Reiki Master/Teacher I am now able to offer folks a very powerful tool to supplement and even expedite their own healing journey and process. |
Mid January 2020 I underwent a brief, yet extremely powerful training and receiving of Sacred Lomi, or Sacred Hawaiian Temple Bodywork, which allowed me to experience first hand the deeply nourishing and profound healing that comes through this shamanic based work. I now joyfully and humbly offer Sacred Lomi sessions as another rich part of my integrative healing practice. I also offer private one-on-one yoga for students who want a deeper, more intimate connection and relationship with themselves and their body. It is my belief that the intimacy of a private yoga session allows students to receive personalized sequences, quing and adjustments that helps them to more effectively meet their needs and goals and safely experience a deeper relationship with themselves, their body and life.
Through the work that has developed for me, I have come to realize that our life's healing journey is exactly that a journey. Health, happiness, wholeness, healing and abundance on all levels of being and aspects of life are not destinations for us to reach, but rather are a daily practice and embodied way of life. Healing is happening with every choice we make, healing is happening with every breath we take and as we allow this healing to take place, we allow our best version of Self and Life to unfold right before our very eyes. Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially my daughter...a sweet and radiant light among the stars who is often a source of encouragement and support, constantly reminding me to stay positive and love, well EVERYTHING! I am extremely adventurous, creatively inspired and enthusiastically curious about life and everything She has to offer. Nature is my church and a healing sanctuary that offers silence, solace, and serenity. Writing, art projects, cooking, dancing, singing, and exploring are just a few of the ways I graciously and joyfully invest my Love in Life. So then my sweet friends, it is my greatest hope that whatever you may find yourself doing in this life that you do it with joy, do it with excitement, do it with Grace, but most of all…..do….it...with….LOVE. |
What to expect during our session... |
Now, for those of you who are a wee bit curious and wanna lil ol’ sample of what a session with me might be like…..well, each and every session is going to start with YOU, what you’re experiencing in your body, what you’re experiencing in your life, and what feels like it could use the most attention at this time. From there, we create an intention together that best encompasses what is coming up to be worked on/with and go over any questions or concerns you may have. A lot of my work is done intuitively which further allows each session to be completely personalized and tailored to precisely what you need at that moment. As we get started, the session may include any or all of the following: various massage and bodywork modalities ( including Lomi, Swedish, Deep tissue, sports, myofascial work, stretching, and ROM), Reiki and/or Karuna, sound healing, use of magically powerful essential oils and CBD, other energy clearing tools such as sage and palo santo, and intuitive messages and/or guidance that come from your Spirit guides, Angels, healers, teachers, masters and other ascended light ones working with you to further facilitate and support your healing process and the development of your intentions. Throughout the session, and sometimes after, we will develop a follow through plan to support you and keep you accountable and focused on your health, healing, happiness and wholeness. This follow through plan may include any or all of the following: client homework such as stretching, self massage, essential oils to use and why, writing in a journal, etc., referral to alternative practitioners or practices that will further support and empower your healing experience.
*Note: Reiki and Karuna healing sessions may be scheduled independently of an integrative session. Massage/bodywork sessions may also be scheduled independently of an integrative session as well. If you have questions, comments, wonderments, concerns or would like more information, click here. |
What to expect during a public class with me... |
A typical class with me is conducted in a timely manner, following a specific agenda. Each and every one of the students who walk into one of my classes are treated equally, fairly and with the utmost respect. The flow of my classes are carefully designed to prepare the body and mind for the apex (or peak pose) of the class. This allows for not only an enjoyable learning experience, but helps to prevent strain and injury. I provide a gentle touch and direct, specific queuing to guide students to make any necessary adjustments so they can experience the body, breath and mind come into alignment. I also incorporate an emphasis on mindful breathing and the holistic aspects of yoga. I offer each student’s genuine effort and commitment to their practice big smiles, high fives and positive affirmations, supporting and encouraging self-acceptance and self-love. Finally, each class has a theme or intention woven into its fabric. Through the progression of class, I expound upon the theme to infuse it not only into the practice of yoga, but into the practice of day to day living. I encourage a light heart and open mind in yoga and in life and look forward to seeing your smiling face in class!
